Ruland beam couplings are machined from a single piece of material with multiple spiral cuts for higher torsional stiffness and torque capabilities and reduced wind-up when compared to single beam couplings. They operate with zero-backlash and have a balanced design. These six beam couplings have two sets of three spiral cuts allowing for all forms of misalignment. Aluminum beam couplings are made from type 7075 aluminum for longer life. Stainless steel beam couplings are made from 303 stainless steel for increased torque capabilities when compared to aluminum styles. Proprietary Nypatch anti-vibration hardware is used on clamp style hardware in F-series beam couplings.
